Expenses

Use the Expenses module to track all healthcare-related costs for your family. Whether it’s a doctor’s visit, a lab test, or a physiotherapy session, you can record every health expense in one place.

This module makes it easy to organize your spending. You no longer have to search through receipts or spreadsheets. Just open the FaMedic medical expense tracker app, and everything is sorted, searchable, and ready to use.

Why You Should Use It

Keeping track of expenses isn’t just about budgeting. It’s also about being prepared.

  1. You can submit these records to your insurance company.
  2. You can plan ahead for future healthcare costs.
  3. You can quickly compare how much you’re spending on each family member’s healthcare needs.
  4. You can avoid missing any reimbursements or claims.

It helps you make smarter, faster financial decisions for your family’s care.

How It Works

From the sidebar, click on Expenses. You’ll land on the main expense screen.

Then follow these steps:

  1. Member: This is auto-filled with the selected family member. You can change it if needed.

  1. Sum: Enter the amount you paid for the medical service (e.g., 2500).

  1. Date: Choose the date the expense occurred. It defaults to today’s date, but you can change it.

  1. Description (Optional): Add notes like “blood test,” “follow-up visit,” or “Dr. Khan consultation.” This helps you remember the purpose of the expense later.

  1. Files (Optional): You can attach receipts, invoices, or prescriptions by clicking Attach file(s).

Once you’re done, click Save to record the expense. Use Cancel to discard it or Delete if you’re editing an entry and want to remove it.

Step 4: Use Filters to Narrow the View

Want to see only recent expenses? Use the Date Range filter. You can pick Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, or Lifetime.

Next, use the Sort By option. You can sort from Newest First or Oldest First—whatever works best for you.

Step 5: Edit or Delete an Expense

Click on any existing member. Then hit the pencil icon to edit it. You can change the amount, the title, or anything else.

Real-Life Scenarios

Let’s see how this module fits into everyday family life.

Manage a Child’s Doctor Visits

You can track every visit to the pediatrician or dentist. Add each one right after the appointment. Later, send it to your insurance provider—no need to chase paperwork.

Track Medication for an Elderly Parent

If your parent takes regular medication, log each refill. You’ll quickly see how much you're spending each month. That helps with planning and budgeting.

Stay Organized During Pregnancy

Keep a full record of pregnancy-related expenses—ultrasounds, supplements, and checkups. Note which doctor you saw and why. This makes follow-ups and insurance claims simple.

Monitor Therapy or Alternative Care

If you're seeing a physiotherapist or acupuncturist, log each session. You’ll have a clear overview of your total spending. That’s helpful if you need to cut back or change plans.

Tips for Best Use

  1. Use consistent labels like “Medication,” “Lab Test,” or “Consultation” to stay organized.
  2. Add short notes for context—like “routine checkup” or “follow-up needed.”
  3. At the end of each month, export your data to create a personal report.
  4. If your insurance allows digital claims, attach this data for faster processing.
