Working with Files

The Files section in FaMedic, the best health records management software, allows you to manage attachments such as medical images, lab test results, reports, or prescriptions. This feature helps you store all relevant medical files in one place, linked to the correct family member or medical record management system.

You can upload various types of files like:

  1. Medical reports (PDF format)
  2. Lab results (JPG, PNG, PDF)
  3. Radiology scans (X-rays, MRIs)
  4. Insurance documents for easy access

Once uploaded, your health documents are stored securely and can be accessed directly from the FaMedic electronic health records system. This file management system ensures your family’s health records are well-organized and easy to retrieve.

Once a file is attached, you can right-click on the file name to open a context menu with the following options:

View:

  1. Opens directly in the app if the file is viewable (e.g. .jpg, .png, .pdf).
  2. For example, if you attach a PDF test report, clicking View will show the document in your default PDF viewer.

Show in Explorer:

  1. Locates the file in your system's file manager.
  2. Use this if you want to move, copy, or share the file outside FaMedic.

Rename:

  1. Allows you to change the file name for clarity.
  2. This is helpful when you want to add context, such as renaming test1.pdf to Blood_Sugar_Test_June2025.pdf.

This gives you full control over accessing, viewing, or referencing your documents as needed.

Example Use Cases

  1. After uploading a scanned blood test report (in PDF), right-click and open it before your doctor appointment.
  2. If you attach an ultrasound image (in PNG), right-click to preview it instantly without leaving FaMedic.
  3. Use "Locate in File System" when you want to back up the file to a USB or email it.

Notes

  1. Files are stored locally on your system or encrypted USB (depending on your setup).
  2. FaMedic does not store your files in the cloud—your data stays private.
