The Watchlist Parameters module in FaMedic lets you define custom health indicators to monitor across your family members. Think of it as your personalized health monitoring system. You can add any parameter like "Blood Sugar," "Heart Rate," or "Stress Level", and define specific ranges and descriptions to track these indicators and take action accordingly.
Why It’s Useful
Managing family health goes beyond storing medical reports. It’s about monitoring health data trends in real-time. With this feature:
- A parent can track their child’s temperature daily and set a fever threshold.
- You can monitor an elderly parent’s blood pressure and spot early warning signs.
- A fitness-conscious member can keep tabs on weight or BMI changes.
- You can create custom parameters such as Mood Level or Sleep Hours to support mental health.
- Lab-related parameters like Basophils (Absolute Count) or HDL Cholesterol can also be tracked, helping bridge day-to-day tracking with diagnostic data.
This module encourages proactive healthcare management, reducing the need for reactive doctor visits.

Basophils (Absolute Count)
- Unit: 10⁹/L
- Range: 0.01 – 0.1
- Description: Basophils are a type of white blood cell, measured in billions per liter. They help identify allergic reactions and chronic inflammation.
Cholesterol HDL
- Unit: mg/dL
- Range: 35.2 – 79.0
- Description: HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is known as "good cholesterol." Higher levels reduce the risk of heart disease.
Eosinophils (Absolute Count)
- Unit: 10⁹/L
- Range: 0.02 – 0.5
- Description: Eosinophils help fight infections, especially those caused by parasites, and are involved in allergic responses.
3. Save the Parameter
After entering the information, click "Save" to add the parameter to your watchlist. It will appear in the left-side panel of the dashboard.

4. Edit or Delete a Parameter
If you no longer need a parameter or added one by mistake, select it from the list and click on the pencil icon. This way, you can edit it or delete it.

Real-Life Use Cases
Here are some illustrative examples of how this module can be used in everyday situations:
- For a baby, you can track body temperature with a range of 97–100°F and include a description that outlines when to seek pediatric care.
- For a mother during pregnancy, you might track iron levels or hemoglobin to monitor for anemia.
- For an elderly family member, you can monitor blood pressure or LDL cholesterol to prevent cardiovascular complications.
- For general well-being, you might add parameters like stress level or sleep hours and log them regularly to monitor mental health.
- If you're managing lab test data, you can enter detailed blood report items such as basophils, eosinophils, or HDL and LDL levels, giving you a comprehensive view of someone’s health over time.
Pro Tips
- Combine Watchlist Parameters with the Watchlist module to receive health alerts based on tracked values.
- Export data when visiting a doctor to provide detailed historical context.
- Use consistent units across parameters for accuracy and better trend analysis.
- Clearly describe each parameter to get more useful AI-generated explanations.
