What Is the Cares Module?

The Cares module in FaMedic helps you set medical reminders for your family members within the FaMedic health records software. Use this feature to track upcoming doctor visits, health follow-ups, or treatment deadlines. For example, if your child has a dental issue, you can visit the dentist, and later set a reminder for the next visit. The Cares module keeps your family’s health tasks organized, so you’ll always know what’s due and when.

Why You Should Use It

Managing multiple family members' health isn’t easy. You may forget checkups, follow-ups, or important medical actions.

The Cares module helps you:

  1. Stay on top of upcoming health events and important medical tasks.
  2. See which actions are overdue to ensure nothing gets missed.
  3. Keep everything in one place with health management software for better health tracking.

With this, you no longer need to rely on memory or scattered notes. The Cares module ensures your family’s health management stays organized.

How to Use the Care Module

Step 1: Open the Cares Section

First, go to the left-side menu.

Scroll down and click on “Cares.”

This opens the care dashboard, where you can manage everything.

Here’s how it looks:

  1. Write a Note: Add a short description like “Teeth cleaning” or “Annual checkup.”

  1. Issues: Add the issue for which you have to get the checkup done. Please note that the issues data comes from the Issues Module. Learn about Issues Module and how to create one here.

  1. Once you fill in the form, the entry appears in the main list under the member’s name.

Now here's the smart part.

When the due date passes, it turns red. This red color tells you that the task is now overdue. You don’t have to guess. The system alerts you visually.

Step 4: Remove Completed or Unneeded Entries

Once the task is done, or if you don’t need it anymore, you can delete it.

Right-click on the care entry. Then select delete.

It’s quick and keeps your dashboard clean.

Real-Life Use Cases

You might be wondering, “How do I use this in real life?”

Here are a few examples:

  1. For your child: Set a reminder for a second polio dose.
  2. For your spouse: Add a care entry for a yearly cholesterol test.
  3. For your parents: Create a dental visit reminder every six months.
  4. For yourself: Add follow-ups for physiotherapy, mental health, or even acupuncture.

Let’s say you took your son Michael to a dentist for a routine cleaning.

You create a care entry. You set the due date as April 30, 2025.

You write “Dental visit” in the note.

That entry now appears in the care list. If the date passes and you haven’t deleted it, it turns red.

You know you need to reschedule or complete the action.
